"If you like Sriracha, then you will love these cookies! Chewy and chocolatey with a hint of chili heat. These chocolate chip Sriracha cookies are so good."
~Steve Cylka, Recipe Developer~
Valentine's Day is coming up. And there's 2 things we just LOVE: Sriracha & chocolate chip cookies. But there's really not many (aka basically nada) cookie recipes out there that use sweet chocolate AND spicy Sriracha. And if other recipes do exist, they're probably meh. So we decided to partner with Steve Cylka at TheBlackPeppercorn.com to come up with this exclusive Sriracha Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. He's a Recipe Developer so we knew he would be up for the challenge! Steve absolutely loves Sriracha so these sweet & spicy cookies are sure to be your new favorite.
Yield: 36 cookies
Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
2 1/3 cups and 1 tsp flour, divided
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 cups chocolate chips
1 1/2 tbsp Huy Fong Sriracha
a few drops red food coloring
Directions
Use an electric mixer to beat the butter, brown and white sugars, eggs and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Slowly beat in the 2 1/3 cups flour, baking soda and salt. Mix until well combined and there are not any more pockets of flour in the mixture.
Take one third of the dough and mix, in a separate bowl, with the Sriracha and food coloring. Mix the remaining 1 tsp flour. Stir in 2/3 cup chocolate chips in with the red cookie dough. Stir in the remaining 1 1/3 cup of chocolate chips with the two thirds of plain cookie dough. Gently fold the cookie doughs together, being careful not to over-mix. There should be large marbled streaks of red dough in with the regular dough.
Drop heaping teaspoonfuls of cookie dough, 2 inches apart, onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a 375F oven for 9-11 minutes.
Cool on a wire rack.
EAT ALL 36 cookies in one sitting, selfishly while watching your fave shows. Okay, you can share 1. But just 1.

Steve says, "If you like Sriracha, then you will love these cookies! Chewy and chocolatey with a hint of chili heat. These chocolate chip Sriracha cookies are so good and I love the swirls of red. The marbling of red in the cookie is not there just for a visual look, but the Sriracha sauce is actually only in the red part of the cookie. Some bites have less red and are also less spicy. There are also times when a part of the cookie has more of the red swirl and you will get a nice kick of heat. Even though these cookies are spicy, they are not too hot. It is more of an after effect. The sweetness and the chocolate are still the prominent flavors of these chocolate chip cookies." (Quote provided by Steve via his blog at TheBlackPeppercorn.com).
Steve also added, "My wife tried it and really liked it. She could definitely taste the Sriracha flavor but it wasn’t too spicy. Hit the back of the throat a little bit. I think that is what we would want in a cookie."
Of course, if you want your Sriracha cookies to be spicier, just add more Sriracha!
